England cricket team’s unofficial 12man, Barmy Army to get security facilities by the BCB in England’s tour of Bangladesh this October, confirmed board’s media committee chairman Jalal Yunus.


Jalal said on Wednesday by confirming the matter, “Andy Thompson, a member of Barmy Army contacted with me asking about where they can stay during the tour and will they get security facilities or not. I talked to BCB president and others. Finally we have decided to give them the facilities.”
Barmy Army team is supporting the English side since 1990s. They might come to Bangladesh this year to support their team. Bangladesh Cricket Board has given them some lists of hotels. The polices will accompany them when the go out.
“We are giving them a list of hotels of Dhaka and Chittagong. We are giving suggestions about hotels to them as well. It is confirmed that there will be polices in near the hotels. To be added, we have selected a vehicle for them to go to stadiums. There will be polices in front and at back of the vehicle,” Jalal said.
He also said that there might be 100 members of Barmy Army. “Thompson infromed me that around 100 Barmy Army members will come to Bangladesh.”
England team are scheduled to land on September 30 and then play 3 ODIs and 2 Tests including some warm-up games in the tour. A three-member ECB delegation had already checked Dhaka and Chittagong. They are quite happy about the securities. England and Wales Cricket Board will take the final decision.
